Jennifer is a professional cellist based in Southeast Portland, Oregon and serving the greater Pacific Northwest region. An experienced orchestral, operatic, and chamber musician, she previously performed with the Evansville Philharmonic and holds degrees from Indiana University, Boston Conservatory, and the University of Oregon, where she graduated as the “Outstanding Undergraduate in Strings.” Jennifer has additional experience performing across the United States in such venues as National Sawdust, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, and the New World Center. When she isn't traveling the region for weddings and other events, she plays with the Newport Symphony Orchestra.
As a teacher, Jennifer utilizes a holistic blend of methods and approaches to instill fundamentals of rhythm, ear-training, and cello technique. An advocate for sustainable, pain-free playing, she often employs principles from the Alexander Technique to ensure the longevity and success of her students. Jennifer is currently accepting students for her private studio, and is on the faculty of Mosaic String Academy.
In addition to her career as a cellist, Jennifer is the Executive Assistant for Aligned Artistry, helping to expand the artistic impact of artists and art organizations through clear communications and compelling brand refinement. She is especially skilled in website development, SEO, digital design, and video editing and ensures online brand coherence for clients.
In her spare time, Jennifer loves reading, baking, and snuggling with her cat.
